Mammoth Bus Trips
The Deal Included:
Not included: Lunches, snacks and breakfast (however, there is a breakfast chef on our trips who will provide an optional breakfast in exchange for a donation.) The Wailers take care of almost everything! You just need to get on the bus, relax and have a good time. | The Scene The adventures begins from the moment you set foot on the bus, which is basically a party on wheels. The back tends to be where the action is at while the front offers a more chill scene. All in all, you can generally expect 30-55 adults (21+ only) who are friendly and welcoming. Our lodgings are an eclectic mix of hotel-style rooms and spacious condos with a loft boasting 4 twin beds, 2 bedrooms on the lower level and 3 bathrooms. Couples who snuggle up together get dibs on the bedrooms, while solo travelers may find themselves in a twin bed in the loft or sharing a hotel room. We'll do our best to accommodate your rooming requests, but there are no guarantees. Contact our Trip Director with questions. |

Can I still come on a trip even if I don't ski or board?
Absolutely! Everyone is welcome to come experience the mountain with us. More than likely, there will be others to keep you company and there are plenty of other activities around the mountain or in town. Back
Are lift tickets included in the price?
Lift tickets are not included. Your best bet is to purchase tickets in advance online for better pricing or you can wait to buy tickets at any ticket window. See also the next question. Back
Do the Wailers have access to any discounted lift tickets?
We do not officially have any special deals available; however, many of our trip-goers are IKON passholders with "buddy pass" discounts. Feel free to shout out on our Wailers Facebook page or contact our Trip Director to ask if any passholders are willing to help. Back
How far from the slopes is the lodging?
The lodge is adjacent to the main parking lot at Main Lodge. While it is not exactly ski-in/ski-out, it is a short walk to the gondola and main lodge chair lifts. Back
Where can I get equipment rentals?
There is a rental shop inside Main Lodge. There are also several locations in town although you will need to find your own transport down the mountain. You can also rent skis locally before departure - check your local listings for options. You might also find recommendations through the Wailers Facebook page. Back
I see you have trip themes. Are costumes required?
Costumes are encouraged, but not required. Themes have become a Wailers tradition. Many only dress up for Saturday night dinner and some carry the theme throughout the weekend, which is quite useful for spotting our people on the slopes. Plus it's a fabulous way to break the ice at our Saturday night dinner party! Back
What can I expect on the bus ride?
The Wailers are famous for our bus trips! The back of the bus is where the action is (chatting and dancing in the isles) while the front offers a more chill scene. We’ve got snacks, beer, wine, and sodas on hand, and the sound system is pumping dance-worthy tunes. If you’re not into the party vibe, just bring some noise-cancelling headphones or earplugs and sit closer to the front. There is a restroom onboard for those who need it. It is a 5-hour drive once we make our last pickup, so expect to arrive sometime around midnight, depending on road conditions. Back
Yes, all rooms are double occupancy and the lofts hold as many as 4 people. Back
Can I make a roommate request?
Our lodgings are a mix of hotel-style rooms and 2-43 bedroom ondos with a loft with 4 twin beds. We'll do our best to accommodate your rooming requests, but there are no guarantees. Couples who snuggle up together get dibs on the bedrooms, while solo travelers may find themselves in a twin bed in the loft or sharing a hotel room. Back
No, but you may request to be put on the shortlist for "No Loft" shared accommodations for an additional charge of $125. We will try our best to accommodate your request, but it is not guaranteed. If we are unable to fullfill your request, you will be refunded the upgrade cost. Back
Will you accommodate my dietary restrictions (vegan, gluten-free, etc.)?
Our culinary masters whip up mouth-watering dishes catering to both herbivores and carnivores. While we will do our best to offer a broad menu, we cannot customize meals to meet the specific dietary needs of every traveler. If you have strict dietary restrictions, we suggest you come prepared with your own food options. Back
May I invite guests to dinner on Saturday night?
Yes! Guests may attend Saturday night dinner with advance purchase through the trip registration page more than 10 days in advance. Walk-ins may be welcome only with approval by the chef and Trip Director (based on supplies). Back
Can I get a discount on the trip price since I do not drink alcohol?
We make sure to keep our trip prices as pocket-friendly as possible, so we do not offer discounts for non-drinkers because the cost of beverages per person is nominal. Back
For liability reasons, we cannot allow any persons under the age of 21 to participate in our events. Back
Do the Wailers participate in mountain racing?
We've had a long history with ski racing, but are not actively involved in racing at this time. For more information, please feel to contact the on-mountain Race Department here. Back
What else is there to do in Mammoth?
Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty of things to do during their visit. Cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, sledding, CAT rides, dining, and shopping are some of the many alternatives to alpine skiing. Check out the online Guide to Mammoth for details. Back
